Canadian clothing company Canada Goose has enlisted London-based Chinese designer Feng Chen Wang and Chinese artist Xu Zhen for its newly created innovative and functional-first collection.
For the collaborative Fall/Winter 2022 line, Canada Goose envisions their heritage of high-performance wear through Feng Chen Wang's future-modern influences and Zhen's modernistic fashion sense.
The results is an expressive, highly visual collection intended to correspond with the four seasons, featuring a deconstructed, modular silhouette.
Take this vest for example: it's made from a material that can protect against the wind, is able to function as both a blazer and a vest, and it comes with a detachable belt with a pocked for easy storing.
On the other hand, The Rodebuc Parka composed of a water-resistant textile that was intended for use in adverse conditions, can be styled as a parka or a vest, with a drawcord on the waist and side zippers for convenience; and the Langham and Mercer Down Jackets can be altered and reconstructed into distinctive silhouettes.
Elsewhere, you can find stylish corset-inspired sweaters with cropped cuts, denim skirts mixed with sturdy, ripstop fabric, classic jogger pants, and trench coats with high collars.
The collection also features Canada Goose's first-ever collaboration in footwear: the Journey Boots by Wang in denim and hardware in contrasting tones with a removable upper collar.
Its arrival is accompanied by an artistic brand campaign shot by William Ukoh in Toronto, Canada, and styled by the same stylist who styled Feng Chen Wang's Spring/Summer 23 collection at Paris Fashion Week.
Immersed in backdrops inspired by Zhen’s work, models showcase the collection’s vibrancy, actualizing the impact that the artist’s work has on the range at large.
The Canada Goose x Feng Chen Wang x Xu Zhen will be available to shop beginning October 20 at select Canada Goose retail stores across Asia and on both the Canada Goose and Feng Chen Wang websites. Take a look at the full range in the gallery above.
