Jean-Claude is an action movie hero and world-renowned martial artist hailing from Brussels, Belgium. He burst onto the Hollywood scene with classic martial arts films Bloodsport and Kickboxer. Jean-Claude Van Damme, “The Muscles from Brussels”, is best known for his martial arts action films. Other successful notables include; Universal Soldier (1992), Hard Target (1993), Timecop (1994), Sudden Death (1995) and JCVD (2008). After studying martial arts intensively from the age of ten, Jean-Claude achieved national success in Belgium as a martial artist and bodybuilder, earning the "Mr. Belgium" bodybuilding title. He emigrated to the United States in 1982 to pursue a career in film, and achieved success with Bloodsport (1988), based on a story written by Frank Dux. He attained subsequent box office success with Timecop (1994), which grossed over $100 million worldwide and became his most financially successful film. Jean-Claude has also voiced "Master Croc" in Kung Fu Panda 2, released in May 2011 and becoming his most successful film to date (grossing well over $600 million worldwide).
