Heidi is a German-American model, actress, television host, businesswoman, fashion designer, television producer, and occasional singer. After becoming well known as an 'Angel' for the lingerie company Victoria's Secret and a familiar face in the high status magazines Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Marie Claire Heidi has developed a successful and varied career. Her projects range from launching a clothing line with New Balance and Amazon.com and hosting a new show 'Seriously Funny Kids' on Lifetime. In 2010, she became the new face and creative advisor for European cosmetics brand Astor, for which she sets artistic direction and designs new products and fashion forward colour collections. Heidi worked as host, judge and executive producer of the award winning reality show Project Runway in the US, filmed at the Parsons The New School for Design. She was nominated for an Emmy in 2008 for 'outstanding host of a reality or reality-competition show' for Project Runway, the first year that category was recognized by the Emmys. Heidi is also an artist, and several of her paintings have appeared in various art magazines in the U.S. In 2002 she dedicated a sculpture she painted called "Dog with Butterflies" to commemorate the role of rescue dogs in the aftermath of September 11. In 2006, Heidi donated the proceeds of her debut single 'Wonderland' to a children's charity in her hometown of Bergisch Gladbach. The superstar model was also unveiled as the face of Unilever's revolutionary line of nourishing shampoos and conditioners. She appeared in a number of television commercials directed by the internationally acclaimed Rankin and created by Lowe Worldwide, where she introduced consumers to a breakthrough approach to strong, beautiful hair that starts at the scalp.
