Tom Brady for Hertz in $4.2 billion Tesla purchase

Tom Brady, American football player and quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, has joined the American car rental company Hertz in a partnership. Their partnership surrounds the “Let’s Go!” campaign, as it prepares to ‘offer the largest EV rental fleet in North America and one of the largest in the world’ by purchasing 100,00 Teslas by the end of the 2022 year.  Brady has been tapped to promote this deal with his signature line – “Let’s Go!” This $4.2 billion transaction with Tesla was made only a few months after the rental car giant, Hertz, arose from bankruptcy at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic per CNBC.  Hertz had received new funding and a second wind of popularity, leading to this purchase.  It is the largest purchase of electric vehicles in history.  Teslas will now encompass more than 20% of Hertz’s entire fleet. On the partnership, Brady commented 'Hertz is changing the game when it comes to the future of mobility. Although the company has been around for over 100 years, their constant evolution, especially now, is something that is amazing to be a part of. I've always loved how easy and convenient Hertz makes it for me when I’m travelling to my favourite places like New York, LA and Tampa and can’t wait to see what they continue to have in store'.
